christians only when god had marry as a wife did he or did not invite you to his party ?

[39:4]
Had God wanted to take a son, He could have chosen from what He has created whatever He willed. Glory be to Him. He is God, the One, the All-Compelling.

[39:5]
He created the heavens and the earth with the truth. He turns the night into day, and turns the day into night, and He has disposed the sun and the moon, each running for an appointed term. Verily it is He Who is the Mighty, the [ever] Forgiving.

[39:6]
He created you from a single soul, then made from it its mate; and He sent down for you of the cattle, eight kinds. He creates you in your mothers’ wombs, creation after creation in a threefold darkness. That is God, your Lord. To Him belongs [all] sovereignty. There is no god except Him. Why then are you being turned away?

[39:7]
If you are ungrateful, indeed God is Independent of you, though He does not approve of ingratitude for His servants. And if you give thanks, He will approve of it for you. And no burdened soul shall bear the burden of another [soul]. Then to your Lord will be your return, whereat He will inform you of what you used to do. Indeed He is Knower of what is in the breasts.

[39:8]
And when distress befalls a person, he supplicates his Lord, turning to Him penitently. Then, when He bestows on him a grace from Himself, he forgets Him Whom he had supplicated before and sets up equals with God, that he may lead [others] astray from His way: ‘Revel in your ingratitude for a while. You shall indeed be among the inhabitants of the Fire’.

[39:9]
Or is he who devotes himself [in worship] in the watches of the night, prostrating and standing, apprehensive of the [eventuality of the] Hereafter, and hoping for the mercy of his Lord … ? Say: ‘Are those who know equal with those who do not know?’ Only people of pith remember.

[39:10]
Say: ‘O servants of Mine who believe! Fear your Lord. For those who are virtuous in this world, there will be good, and God’s earth is vast. Truly the steadfast will be paid their reward in full without any reckoning’.

[39:11]
Say: ‘Indeed I have been commanded to worship God devoting [my] religion purely to Him,

[39:12]
and I have been commanded to be the first of those who submit’.

[39:13]
Say: ‘Indeed, should I disobey my Lord, I fear the chastisement of a tremendous day’.

[39:14]
Say: ‘God [alone] I worship, devoting [my] religion purely to Him.

[39:15]
So worship whatever you wish besides Him’. Say: ‘Indeed the losers are those who [will] have lost their souls and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Truly that is the manifest loss!’

[39:16]
Above them they will have canopies of fire, and beneath them [they will have [similar] canopies. That is what God frightens His servants with, “So, O servants of Mine, fear Me!” ’

[39:17]
As for those who steer clear of the worship of false deities and turn penitently to God, there are good tidings for them. So give [such] good tidings to My servants,

[39:18]
who listen to the words [of God] and follow the best [sense] of it. Those, they are the ones whom God has guided; and those, they are the people of pith.

[39:19]
Can he against whom the word of chastisement has been fulfilled …; Will you deliver one who is in the Fire?

[39:20]
But as for those who fear their Lord, for them there will be lofty abodes with [other] lofty abodes built above them, with rivers flowing beneath them — a promise of God. God does not fail the tryst.

[39:21]
Have you not seen that God sends down water from the heaven, then conducts it as springs in the ground? Then with it He brings forth crops of diverse hues. Then they wither and you see them turning yellow. Then He turns them into chaff. Truly in that there is a reminder for people of pith.

[39:22]
Is he whose breast God has opened to Islam, so that he follows a light from his Lord [like he who disbelieves]? So woe to those whose hearts have been hardened against the remembrance of God. Such are in manifest error.

[39:23]
God has revealed the best of discourses, a Book, consimilar in coupled phrases — whereat quiver the skins of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts soften to the remembrance of God. That is God’s guidance, by which He guides whomever He will; and whomever God leads astray, for him there is no guide.

[39:24]
Is he who will be fending off with his face the awful chastisement on the Day of Resurrection [as he who does right]? And it will be said to the wrongdoers: ‘Taste [now] what you used to earn’.

Suggestions for loud neighbors?

Suggestions for loud neighbors? Our neighbors let their daughter, her husband and their five year old daughter move into their home. For the past two months they are up til 11pm-midnight laughing, drinking, scream talking, slamming trashcans and setting off their security light which is very very bright. Usually I would have no problem with it but our bedroom window is right next to their party canopy where they hang out all night. I asked them a month ago to keep it down and they just got louder. I called the cops two night ago….they got very upset at that and our tire on our brand new car got slashed. They of course deny it was them but we know for a fact it was them. they threw a drink on the car also and the trail leads right up to their house. We filed a complaint with the cops (we called them twice that night). Last night they were extra loud and were laughing about our tire and the whole situation. I’m at my wits end…I have a 9 month old that can’t sleep at night because they are so loud and make the light shine into our room. I’m going to put up thicker curtains for the light but we still have a problem with the noise. Any suggestions on what to do? Anything that smells bad I can plant so they won’t want to hang out there at night because of the stench. We can’t play nice. I don’t want anymore tires slashed…they are too expensive to replace! Me and my baby need some sleep. We lived in single family homes NOT APARTMENTS. The night we called the cops the hubby got in my face and made a bunch of racial slurs…so I’m little scared for my safety.

I am thinking of having a dinner party and found this recipe… I was going to try it with sparrows?

You catch the ortolan with a net spread up in the forest canopy. Take it alive. Take it home. Poke out its eyes and put it in a small cage. Force-feed it oats and millet and figs until it has swollen to four times its normal size. Drown it in brandy. Roast it whole, in an oven at high heat, for six to eight minutes. Bring it to the table. Place a cloth—a napkin will do—over your head to hide your cruelty from the sight of God. Put the whole bird into your mouth, with only the beak protruding from your lips. Bite. Put the beak on your plate and begin chewing, gently. You will taste three things: First, the sweetness of the flesh and fat. This is God. Then, the bitterness of the guts will begin to overwhelm you. This is the suffering of Jesus. Finally, as your teeth break the small, delicate bones and they begin to lacerate your gums, you will taste the salt of your own blood, mingling with the richness of the fat and the bitterness of the organs. This is the Holy Spirit, the mystery of the Trinity—three united as one. It is cruel. And beautiful.

You might try putting the words “tent near” plus your zip code or location into Google (no quotes) and see what pops up. In many areas there are companies which rent tents for special occasions. Similarly, call sail lofts or canvas repair shops to see if they know of a source. Good Luck!!

White lights-either the plain tree type or clear rope lighting works too. LOTS LOTS LOTS of netting or tulle to drape the entire room in. Start the tulle as a big wad in the center of the room (on the ceiling) and drape it to the edges and then attach it to the walls, or down the walls. You will basically do the same thing with the lights. This is a very time and money consuming task, so do some checking around and see what you can find! Congrats and good luck!

Does this bible verse prove that God does exist?

OK, we know that before people thought that the world was flat until it was actually proved that the world is a circle shape. So there is a bible verse stating how the world is a sphere, could this be a revelation from God that the world is in a circled shape instead of being flat?

He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
Isaiah 40:22

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

Many a skeptic claims that the Bible depicts a flat earth. Scriptural references such as Revelation 7:1 are cited, which speaks of “four angels standing at the four corners of the earth.” However, this passage makes reference to the cardinal directions as seen on a compass – i.e. North, south, east and west. Terminology to a similar effect is used today when we speak of the sun rising and setting each day, even though we know that it is, in fact, the earth which orbits around the sun.

Another passage often referred to is Psalm 75:3, which speaks of God holding the pillars firm. However, the psalms are written in the poetry genre. Rather than referring to literal pillars, this is representative of God’s guaranteeing the earth’s stability. Even when the moral order of the world seems to have crumbled, God will not fully withdraw His sustaining power.

In contrast to the supposed “flat earth” verses, there are numerous Scriptures that clearly indicate otherwise. The earth is described in Job 26:7 as being suspended over empty space, implying a spherical figure. This notion is further entertained in Isaiah 40:21-22, which refers to “the circle of the earth.” This is further supported by Proverbs 8:27 (NKJV), which speaks of God drawing a circle on the face of the deep. From a “bird’s-eye view” of the ocean, the horizon is seen as a circle. Such an observation indicates that where light terminates, darkness begins, describing the reality of day and night on a spherical earth.

The round-earth idea is further supported by Jesus in Luke 17:31,34: “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back…I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.” This would seem to indicate the phenomenon of day on one side of the globe while darkness abides on the other.

In conclusion, the curvature of the earth is certainly a biblical concept, and there is little or no basis for the charge that the Bible teaches a flat earth. The Scriptures that seem to present a flat earth can all easily be explained when correctly interpreted and understood.

Halloween Party Issueeeeeeeeeee!? :S?

hey guys, so my dad gave me this really cool idea for my halloween party to rent one of those black, rounded carport canopies that are open on both sides.
how early can you have a birthday party before its considered tacky?

my daughter’s birthday is dec 12th. it is always freezing and rainy on her birthday. i live in central california so its not terrible weather compaired to some states. but you definitely cant have a nice party at a park.

that brings me to my next point, the park. this is the park kids dreams are made of. it is made of 5 different parks lumped together to make one big super park. there is an infant/baby section, a toddler/ child section, and a kid/ big kid section, and a big sand area, and right in the middle is 5 picnic benches under a big canopy. all this is next to a huge man made fishing pond. a dream.

how early is too early for a birthday party? could i have it 6 weeks early and not be criticized? i dont want people to think im greedy or anything, i just want to have a nice family party for my family and friends to celebrate her birthday.

also everyone is usually very busy around the end of november and through december. the holidays, xmas shopping etc. it was so hard last year but we wont get into that.

so my dilemma is how early could i possibly have her party with out being tacky? i know 2 months is over doing it, but would 6 weeks be okay? that would make the weather about 70 degrees still.

how early is too early? how early have you had your childrens parties?
sacramento, ca

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

Six weeks is fine, especially since you’re doing two things: guaranteeing better weather, and separating it from the Christmas crunch. Parents will probably be glad. Two months probably wouldn’t be out of line. You could have a small immediate-family celebration on the day of, and get the kids’ party out of the way when you can do it the way that will be most fun for everyone.

I know people who have winter birthdays who celebrate in the summer instead, for both of those reasons. I also know parents of kids who have summer birthdays who celebrate before the end of the school year (or, less often, when we’re back in September).

Will this be used in the car, is it a convertible.

How will the seat be used, just to get a idea on how to frame it out.

Edit- Take a thin flexible dowel metal would work put holes on the seat in the lip around the sides where you want the canopy to come out across the seat, slide each end of the dowel into the holes in the side and secure it by bending the dowel around the lip or some type of wing nut or similar to fasten it tight, so that the dowel creates a semi circle at about the level you want the canopy to go. Then take a piece of fabric and sew it similar to a sheet but at a size of the distance between the top of the seat and the dowel, slip it over the lip on the back of the seat and over the dowel. Using this type or dowel set up will allow for moving the canopy up and down.
I hope this helps or at least gives you an idea of what way you want it to go.

Who has the best ideas?

We’re getting married at my fiance’s father’s house. We’re going to have the ceremony and reception there. The ceremony will take place by the pool area at around 3pm. The reception is going to be in a marquee or bedouin tent in the garden, with dinner and dancing. My question is what can our guests do while we’re getting photos taken with the bridal party? There is a large patio that can be used. We’re expecting about 60 guests. I don’t really want the guests to enter the marquee before the reception starts. Any ideas that are creative and inexpensive to pull off will be appreciated!

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

You DID say “inexpensive” and, from experience, I can tell you that having 2 caterers serve mixed drinks and hors d’oevres will cost you about $500 for one hour. Instead, why not have two punch bowls – one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic – handy and a couple of trays of nibbles like cheese/crackers/fruit. (Costco, 2 large fruit tray, 2 cheese trays to feed 60 = less than $100. Punch, one with vodka, for 60 = less than $100.) Then set up a small tree and have note cards, scotch tape and pens on a table. Invite people to write sweet messages for you and tape them to the wishing tree. You could have a theme like “How to stay in love”, or “Hints for a happy marriage”. 60 people would take from 1 to 2 hours to get this done and for them to mingle on the patio. Have nice light jazz playing to keep people in a great mood. Have the caterer place a couple of potted plants at the entrance to the marquee with a satin ribbon tied between them. People aren’t stupid. They will understand that the dinner reception starts when the ribbon is cut. Also, after the ceremony, have the best man annmounce to people that you will be taking photographs and people may watch or go to the patio for refreshments and to please join him in welcoming the bride and groom at the entrance to their wedding tent at 4:30. That way, if some people have to leave for a bit – maybe go to an ATM or for a smoke or get a new pair of pantyhose – they know where and when to be in attendance! Sounds like a lovely home for a wedding!

How many doctors do you know who would do this?

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – It wasn’t long after Tuesday’s earthquake leveled nearly all of the houses next to Claude Surena’s that neighbors started showing up at his doorstep.

For years, the 59-year old pediatrician had treated the sick at his two-story hillside home near the center of the Haitian capital.

Suddenly, he was running a triage center, treating more than 100 victims on his shaded, leafy patio with food and supplies salvaged from ruined homes.

His undamaged house provides at least a minimum level of comfort away from the devastation — even for the dying — while thousands of others in the city lie in the dirt under a merciless sun waiting for attention from a handful of doctors.

“I have to thank whoever brought me,” said Steve Julien, who says the last thing he remembers before he blacked out was rescue workers calling his name as they dug through the rubble of his house. When he woke up, he was lying on a mattress inside Surena’s soothing oasis.

“It was a blessing from God my house is safe,” he said. “We at least have been able to do something for everyone.”

They injured sing Christian hymns as they huddle close together beneath sheets strung up as tents, but the earthquake still haunts them. Aftershocks rattled the city as recently as Friday morning.

Eighteen of their patients have died. No case hit Surena harder than a pregnant woman who died shortly after she started having contractions Tuesday night, likely from internal hemorrhaging. Despite a rudimentary Cesarean-section, they could not save the baby.

The patients say they know Surena is doing his best.”Considering the materials here, they are taking good care of us,” Hubert said.

I’d like to throw a drinking party in a tent… Help?

So I have the funds to get a large 20 person tent, some battery hook up strobe lights and stereo, and I plan to insulate the canopy tent with some blankets as well as invest in a ceramic/plastic portable heater. The overall cost for everything is about $230.

The idea is so that me and my friends will have somewhere to go, as our houses are not always ideal and that I’m sick of wandering around town managing them all the time.

Talk about bad luck!?

I bought a ticket for “Shakespeare on the rocks” to go see a play they were putting on. The play was outdoors, and it was sprinkling outside. There was also no canopy or tents to block off the rain. I thought “no big deal” it’s just sprinkling, at least its not raining”. And at that moment it started pouring, I mean it was raining cats and dogs, and I was getting pretty soaked. Before the play even began I had to leave, because it was ridicules being outdoors in weather like this. And with that the whole play was canceled. There was no need for the show to go on. So sadly I went home with my puffy hair, which I spent hours straightening, and wet clothes. I am here thinking to myself, jeez what rotten luck I was really looking forward to watching the play all week, I even got dressed up for the event. And when the day finally arrived it turned out to be a total mess. Has this ever happened to you, where you were looking forward to something but it did not quite turn out the way you wanted it to?

Any tips for selling at a farmer’s market?

I’m 13 and crocheting stocking caps for a farmer’s market this fall. It’s my first one, so I’m a little nervous…can you answer any of these questions?
Are my prices OK? $12 for adult cap, $10 for child large, $8 for child small, $5 for baby.
Is a canopy/tent neccesary? They’re a little out of my price range but if I mow lawns etc. I think I can earn enough.
Is 75 stocking caps enough merchendise?
Do I have to have a name for my business?

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

1. Go Early, but Not Too Early
The best stuff goes fast. A farmer may only have a single flat of ripe, juicy blackberries or a couple of pounds of fresh green peas, so arrive early to make sure you get the best pick of the market’s wares. Take care, though, not to go too early. Some markets disallow sales prior to the official hour and the sale you ask the farmer to make early may very well slow down set-up thus reducing the sales she or he can make later.
2. Or Go Late, but Not Too Late
From time to time, farmers may discount their produce toward the end of the day. No one wants to cart a half case of unsold tomatoes or peaches back to the farm. If your budget is of primary importance, attending late may yield the best deals. Sometimes, farmers discount their produce as much as 20% by the end of the day just to get it sold so they don’t have to take it back to the farm. Keep in mind that some markets disallow this sort of discounting.
3. Offer to Help the Farmer
Sometimes a market is buzzing and lines of customers wrap around booths, congesting the street. If a vendor can’t keep up with the lines, he or she is losing sales. Consider approaching the farmer after the market and offer to help manning the booth in exchange for fresh produce. This helps the farmer to keep the lines short and customers happy without having to pay an employee or drag interns off the farm whose time is better spent farming.
4. Volunteer at the Market
By volunteering at the market not only do you get a better understanding of the workings of a farmers market and farm-to-market relationships, but you also enjoy an opportunity to spend some time outside volunteering for a good cause. By volunteering at the market, you reduce the substantial workload faced by the market manager. Keep in mind that market manager burn out is the leading cause of market failure. You don’t want your market to fail, so offer to share the burden. You may also earn some free fruit, vegetables or other food as many vendors will leave goods they don’t want to take home with market volunteers and management.
5. Bring Your Own Bags & Baskets
Most vendors don’t supply and don’t wish to supply customers with disposable bags. Other markets, like ours, are designated zero-waste or plastic-free zones and vendors aren’t allowed to bring disposable bags for customer use. By bringing your own bags, you reduce waste at the market and in your own home. Plus there’s just something exceptionally beautiful about a basket brimming with bright green lettuce, dark red cherries, orange apricots and other lovely fruits and vegetables.

Activists vow not to eat until immigration reform is passed will they make it ?

As of Saturday, June 19, three women are on their fifth day of a hunger strike in downtown Raleigh. They want to pressure Senator Kay Hagan to co-sponsor an immigration reform bill currently up for debate in Washington D.C.

Viridiana Martinez, 23, Rosario Lopez, 25, and Loida Silva, 22, all live in central North Carolina. They are all undocumented immigrants who came as children to the United States with their parents during the 1990’s.

The trio want Hagan to sign onto the DREAM Act, also know as the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, which creates a 6-year path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants under 35 as long as they go to college or the military, get good grades and stay out of trouble.
In a written statement, Hagan said the DREAM Act “should be considered in the context of comprehensive immigration reform,” but did not say directly whether or not she supports the legislation.

The three young women have a small encampment at the corner of Wilmington and Lane streets, and have a permit to stay there until July 1. But they say the hunger strike is “indefinite.” In the mean time, they’re surviving by drinking Gatorade, Pedialite and water.

They have three tents, a canopy, a portable toilet and signs in a small park on the intersection in the midst of state government office buildings and across the street from the state legislature.

Volunteers and supporters take turns spending time at the site and greeting passers-by 24 hours a day.
Reminds me of a toddler who holds his breath until he gets what he wants. No one pays attention to them either.

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

Yes it will help for the falling rain, but if your tent is not made for wet weather you might get water coming into the tent from water running on the ground. A good tent is better than any canopy because they usually have an actual rain cover already included.

You should also take a decent first aid kit. An injury in the wild can be devastating and greatly threaten your chances of survival.

If you are going to take a flashlight, take one that is a windup or charged by shaking. That way you don’t have to worry about the batteries going dead and leaving you in the dark.

Take a hat and gloves. Sunburn is nasty and splinters are nasty.

Take a good space blanket (as opposed to a tarp). They can be used as a tarp, can be used as a blanket and can also be used to distill water from the sun.

Instead of MRE’s you might want to consider freeze-dried foods, which are more lightweight and come in a wider variety of entrees.

Make sure you take an extra pair of socks or plan on rinsing your socks out every night. Ask any experienced hiker and they will tell you to take care of your feet and they will get you where you’re going.

You would be wise to take a small water filter or water purification tablets. You might not always be able to build a fire to heat and purify the water, so a back up plan is always good.

If you are going to try and live off the land, then I would recommend you take a small guide to the edible wild plants in that part of the country. You can set small snares and catch small wildlife, but be aware of any hunting laws in your area. Even fishing without a license can get you into trouble with the local game warden.

Need advice/tips with a survival situation!?

Coming up in a few months (this summer), I plan to try to survive in the North Carolina mountains for five to seven days. I have minimal experience camping/hiking, so I come to you for help.

As far as gear goes I plan to bring:
- Backpack
- Striker to make fires
- Axe/small knife
- Fold-able shovel
- Rope/string
- Tarp
- Collapsible pot (do they make these?)
- Metal rack (like the ones that are on grills)
- MRE packs only to use in emergency
- Flash light?

Still undecided on if I am going to bring a small tent and a fishing pole, would like to try to build my own shelter and would like to see if I could catch food without a fishing pole. Is there anything that I left out that may be needed?

Any tips as to what find of food I should look for? My dad suggested crawlfish. Any other tips of hints you might have would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Pretty silly list. How are you planning to haul all this kit? A wheelbarrow? A solar powered golf cart?

Fact is you can’t carry more than a third of your weight for any period of time. All the crap you list would be at least as heavy as you are and most would be pointless in an emergency.

Way too much duplication of tools. A folding pocket knife and saw are all you need. Maybe keep the multitool but no more. Don’t need the icebox — I doubt the 7-11′s will have bags of ice during Armageddon.

Certainly don’t need all the weapons (take the smallest gun if you insist. Don’t you know that statistics support that you are 20 times more likely to be killed by a gun if you carry or own one than if you do not? Facts prove having a gun only attracts violence.) If you plan on using a weapon to hunt game, stick with a good small crossbow — you can reuse the bolts instead of worrying about ammo. And a bow is silent.

The phone and charger would be useless quickly unless you carry a portable solar charger. Where are you planning to plug in during the Apocalypse?

Doubt any gas mask you could buy would be of much use in a sophisticated chemical or bio warfare attack. Scrap that.

Ditch the water tablets and get a hand pump water filter. A roll of tie wire will be more useful than nails. Ditch the Bible unless you need the pages for firestarter.

Minus 30 sleeping bag is WAY too warm for anything above zero. Carry a 10 or 15 degree bag . You can roll up in the tarp for extra warmth inside the tent.

Other silly stuff: taser gun, bear spray, binoculars, trekking pole (sticks are free and easy to find), hot and cold packs (what for?), MRE’s (they taste like crap — carry jars of peanut butter, Rye Crisp and dried fruit — you can live indefinitely on that), garbage bag (unless you just want to use it to crawl inside to make it easier for people to dispose of your corpse. A compass and regional topo maps would be useful.

Forget the seeds — what you have here will only get you through a couple of weeks at best. Considering the lack of reality in this list, my sense is that you don’t have the skills or “survival” experience necessary to live long enough to plant anything.

The best prep for a disaster is a calm and reasonable frame of mind and a good bit of experience in camping and trekking with gear you are already familiar with. If you feel like you need to take a book along to teach you to survive, the odds are against you actually being able to do so.
