Waitressing in the UK!?
I waitress now and again for a friend – mainly at large houses serving food at dinner parties and canopies etc. I know the rule that you shoudl serve all ladies first and the ladie of the house last of the ladies then serve the men and man of the house last and the same when clearing. Do i serve from the right or left and take away from right or left?
Thanks
And is it their left not my left!?

Serve from the left, clear from the right. Their left as in over their left shoulder, and clear from over their right/

Parents of girls ages 4-6 Children’s Fairy Tea Party would you?
I currently do photography as a part time business but have always loved planning parties. I would love to provide dress up parties for girls 4-6 I would have hand made beautiful tutus made with soft tulle and flowers and pretty leotards. I would have glittery wings and halos made out of ribbon and flowers (children would keep the halo). I would have a transportable table, fairy stools, and whimsical canopy over the table draped in flowing tulle. I would have fairy decorations for the table such as moss centerpiece with flowers, mushrooms and butterflies. The table would have child size real tea cups and saucers for a tea party. I would provide a craft and few games such as a fairy hunt and the children would also have a favor bag to keep. I would do set up and clean up. The party could take place at home in their yard or at a park or other location. I would photograph the party and take a portrait of the birthday girl and a group photo with the guests along with all the candids. I do not have a food license so I was hoping to work with a local women who makes cakes so I could add on a package that would include all the fairy food and or cake which would be provided by her. We would both advertise each others business on our websites and so it would be a win/win. The tea would be pink lemonade or something similar. I am very detail oriented and love kids, I think a little girl would love a party like this and the child and parents would have beautiful photos to remember the day forever. Not to mention I would be providing most of the work so parents would be stressed free.
So my question is would you hire someone to do something like this? Do you think $150 would be a reasonable price for a party like this (everything but main food) snacks would be provided and drink but cake and fairy food would be an extra add on. Would you be willing to pay this?
Yes it would include the photos. And yes the food would be an optional add on if parents wanted to make/buy their own that would be okay.

I would absolutely pay that price for a little girl’s party! Heck, I’d even make it my party! =)
It sounds like a little girls dream, she would absolutely adore her parents for it!

Backyard LUAU party ideas for my mom’s birthday.?
I am throwing my mom a Surprise 45th birthday for my mom and she has always wanted a luau. So thats what i’m doing for her. I have some decorations, but need help with food ideas and games. Also i wanted to do prizes. There will be kids and adults there, so i wanted to have prizes for kids and adults, but in the Hawaiian theme. Any ideas. Also we have a above ground pool and trampoline and are putting in a koi pond and i was wondering what kind of backyard setup i could do. i want to put strings from our patio to fence and hang lanterns on it. and I’m trying to find cheap canopies, like a 10×20, but can’t. also i need help with Bamboo. We have a covered patio and i wanted to put bamboo on it to make it look like a tiki hut, any cheaper idea or know of where to find bamboo at? Any thing will help

You can get solar bamboo tiki torches at Home Depot … Check Oriental Trading Co.’s website for lots of favors & decorations. They have grass skirts to go around your tables, and you might be able to put them over your canopies too….. Walmart or Target should have cheaper canopies in their garden/patio sections …… Make fruit kebobs and put the skewers into whole fresh pineapples, and use them as centerpieces. Little wooden bowls with chunks of FRESH coconut and macadamia nuts. Poi is served at all luaus, but tastes terrible – so put the teensiest dab of blue & red food coloring into hummus, to color it purple and serve with chips …… Fill a jar with tropical jelly bellies and have a prize for the person who guesses how many are in there ….. Get some sprigs of artificial little orchids at Michaels, and scatter the orchids all over the table, and food platters (they’re on everything in Hawaii) …….

That sounds like a reasonable price and a super party. Like others said, that price should include a certain number of guests with further charge for each guest beyond that. I would also say a specific time allotment, too, maybe 2 hours, and charge beyond that. (Not that the party would have to end, but you would be done with your activities and pictures and would leave.) I assume you’d charge for whatever pictures they order. You’ll have to think about that. Good luck with your business.
