About Canopy Tents With Sides

A shopper wants to know…

What should I wear to my engagement party?

It is being held in my backyard, with a nice canopy tent with sides, there will be a DJ. I don’t want to get incredibly dressed up, but I want to look nice for pictures. And what should my guests wear? By the way its October 17!

CanopyTentStore.com Staff Says:

You should wear a nice knee length dress, or skirt and shirt. Make them of light, flowy material, like cotton or jersey. For shoes wear flats or maybe even heels. Have guests wear semi-formal attire, men should wear a button up and khakis/black pants, and women a dressy outfit of sorts.

Places to have my wedding near Waterford, MI…?

Can anyone suggest any good outdoor places to have my May wedding in or near Waterford, MI?? Acceptable surrounding places would be: Clarkston, Grand Blanc, Davisburg, Lk Orion, Holly, Milford, Highland, Fenton…etc.

I want the ceromony at dusk out side and then the reception possibly out side with nice lighting and nice canopy tents….doesnt have to be at the same place but it would be a plus….and budget is a factor as well….

I’m getting married in June when all of the flowers are in bloom. We’re getting married at an Arboretum.

Try a local Arboretum. They usually allow wedding ceremonies for a great price. You can choose indoor or outdoor. I’m having mine at a local arboretum, outdoors. They always have Pavilions and “Conference” Centers for your reception. They’re wonderful because you are surrounded by flowers and nature! Mine also is going to be pretty small. 70 people max. We’re a young couple who are not church people so we are getting married in the outdoors with the lovely nature =)

check this site for arboretums in Waterford, MI.

How can I enclose and cover my deck?

We have a small deck, about 7 1/2 X 11 ft and wanted to cover it and screen it affordably. I had wanted to buy a screen tent/canopy, but none I found has been small enough to fit the 7 1/2 side. My husband asked a handyman who suggested a screen enclosure, patio mate, which would have been perfect but it was 4 inches too big – so close! I had a baby very recently and would love to be outside with him, and he is as fair skinned as I am, so we wanted to find a way to cover it and screen it for under $1000 (the patio mate at bj’s was about $650). The 7 1/2 side is making it tough to find anything. I started looking online at DIY patio covers, and thought I would ask here. Pergolas are beautiful to cover (as a deck roof that I would then hope to use some kind of screening) but costly, is there anything anyone would suggest? I haven’t seen any screen tents or patio covers to fit the dimensions. Are there any kits maybe to create a patio cover or some kind of roof that we could then enclose, or any other suggestions? Thank you!

This is just a cheap alternative till you figure something out. You can get the screen/netting/shade cloth (dont know what its called) from Home Depot or Walmart for like $20 a roll. On my deck I already had a fence around it, so I just got some of that screening and used a 2×2 rolled up about 2 times on each end then used the screen staples (long and flat) to secure it. I attached the board to my house, and the other side on the fence. If you do this neatly it comes out pretty nice for $25.
