A shopper wants to know…
How can I make my own canopy frame?
The canopy kits in the stores are so expensive. I would like to make the frame and just use tarps to drape over it. How can I create a sturdy 10′ x 10′ frame, and how do I secure the tarps? The canopy will be placed on concrete (patio). Thank you for your help.

Go to a flea market and look at the shade structures made from EMT conduit (metal thinwall pipe for electic use). There are fittings available in many configurations to assemble the structure Usually these same fittings will be available from a vendor at the flea market. You can do the same thing using PVC pipe and fittings. PVC and EMT conduit are available at your local hardware/home center. Get ball bungees to secure tarp to the pipes.

I need to make a replacement top for my garden canopy (the metal kind). Has anyone done this successfully?
The wind destroyed the canvas top of my garden canopy. Since the only place that sells them is sold out until August, I’m thinking of making my own (I know how to sew). Home Depot has very large 18′X25′ canvas tarps that might work. Anybody tried this?

OK here is goes, please say you still have the original canopy….. You could trace out the original pattern and try to recreate it..don’t forget to add extra for seams.

Does anyone have any suggestions for covering the back of my pick up truck besides a tarp or canopy?We are moving across town tomorrow and it is raining.tHANKS!

Whats wrong with a tarp which is cheap like cheap at walmarts about ten bucks that or wait til it stops raining

My land lord say that I cant have tarps around my canapes. Everywhere I go people with canopies have tarps.?
My apartment manager allows people to build illegal sheds. says she going to tow unregistered cars away and never does. but I hang two tarp to protect my car from the weather. Even thow there nothing in the contract aganist it. and the nieghbor down about five apartments down has a fulll inclosure. the dont tell him to take his tarps down is that legal
